1952. FS-901, "Superbird". PCGS graded Proof 65. PQ. An interesting variety nicknamed the "Superbird" quarter. Close examination reveals a tiny raised "S" on the center of the eagle's breast. It is unknown what may have caused this mark, although speculation suggests it was a tiny imperfection on the hub, leaving a depression in the coinage die, leading to the raised mark on the finished coin. Moderately toned and appearing fully original (PCGS # 144443) .
Estimated Value $120 - 130.
